TEN QUESTIONS YOU SHOULD ASK BEFORE PURCHASING A VEHICLE.

Be sure to ask these ten questions and listen carefully to the dealer’s answers before deciding to make a purchase:

1. What is your reconditioning policy?

2. Does your dealership have an on-site mechanic who is ASE Certified or use an ASE Certified Mechanic?

3. Do you have a Carfax or Vehicle History Report available for this vehicle?

4. How long have you been in business?

5. Do you offer a warranty with the vehicle?

6. Are you a member of any dealer associations? – There are over 3,000 Independent Used Car Dealer in the State of Indiana and only 250 of them belong to IIADA.

7. Do you have the title for the vehicle?

8. What is the total price I’ll be charged for the vehicle? – Watch out for hidden finance charges, credit life disability, etc.

9. Can you show me what the Federal Buyer’s Guide is on this vehicle?

10. Would it be possible to take this vehicle to my mechanic so he can look it over?

And remember – Dealers who use gimmicks such as “Minimum Trade”, Push/Pull/Drag It In,” “No Payments for 90 Days,” “Free Stuff” could possibly not be offering anything at all and actually may be charging you for it, don’t forget – the total price!
